Is the Triumph Thruxton a good beginner bike?

I'm 5' 11'; 230 lbs. I'd be using the bike as my main transportation which is only going to class or to a friend's house around the city (and of course for joy riding). Is the Triumph Thruxton a good beginner bike?
Yes !!!

It makes good, but not overwhelming horsepower. It has a nice, wide powerband. It's not too heavy. It has good, predictable handling with lots of ground clearance. These are traits that make it easy to ride well. As a bonus it's easy on chains and tires and It's fantastically reliable, so maintenance won't break the bank either. What's there not to like ?

I highly recommend getting a set of TOR (Triumph off-road) pipes. They are not irresponsibly loud, but still free up the engine nicely and give it a nice throaty sound. Is the Triumph Thruxton a good beginner bike?
myself i like the scrambler and my dad the bonneville

we were at the local bike wrecker and he said straight out that a new triumph out of any motor bike on the market is what he would buy new!

and i could not help but agree with him about what he said that harley's were apart from something he will not touch.
I agree with DG.

Great bike, and not everybody has one.

If I could afford one, I would add one to my stable in a minute.

Just take the MSF course, and wear your gear.

Welcome to the sport.
The clip-ons (low handlebars) are a bit uncomfortable around town. You could try a bonneville.
of course! beginner bike, u lucky bastard.
