i am a beginning tennis player that wants to play with friends and start getting good. I want a tennis racquet for x-mas and I want to know which one is a good one to get. I am 6 foot 1, so i don't know what length i should get. What would be a good suggestion?Good tennis racquet for beginner?
PrinceGood tennis racquet for beginner?
Here is your best bet. Go to a good sized tennis shop or a decent sporting goods store and demo racquets. Usually you give them a few bucks deposit, and but that comes off the racquet you buy. Several places online will do it too. Then you get to try out several racquets and pick the one you play with the best. You usually have a knowledgeable person at the store to help you. Good luck!
Babolat have a great selection of beginner rackets for everyone. They make different sized weight ones and also for the syle of play you use. They also make rackets for how serious you are or will be by the end. So pick babolat
To summarize what's been said.. Its easiest and best to start out with an oversized racquet as opposed to a midsize. For a 6' 1'; player, you should defnitely have an adult racquet. I recommend the Prince Tour personally, I play a Prince Speedport. Speedports are good, but generally have much more power.
Hope this helps, Nathan S
Head has the best racquets ^_^
go to a sports store and get a racket that there...no need to get fancy. when they get better, get them a wilson or prince. thats what i did.
aslo, if they dont like tennis you want to waste a good one
a good racquet to start out with is the head liquidmetal radical mp. its really cheap and its pretty good based on its specs. dont buy the oversized one since its not teaching good technique if you rely too much on the power of a racquet.
if not that one, get a wilson ntour which is in my opinion even better than the radical.
they both cost around the same and are pretty good tweener racquets...
id back off from the beginner racquets since they just slow down a players growth and teach bad technique.
For starters you should get one that you feel comfortable holding and that is not to heavy or light. You can get those at decent sport shops. OR if you are considering taking lessons, consult your coach or ask your coach to get a racquet that best suits your style of playing. =)))
go to a tennis shop where they have experienced tennis players and sales representives
Get the one that feels most comfortable to you, from weight, balance, torquing of mis-hit shots, and even grip. Most rackets are a standard 27'; (cm?) in length, but some are offered in a longer size to generate more power. I suggest going to a shop (preferably a local one), tell them about what you're looking for, and demo several frames from different manufacturers because you'll never know which one is right for you. Mention that you don't know your grip size, and they should help you out with that. All racket makers manufacture good frames, but some are more suitable for others.
If I were trying to sell you a frame, I'd see how heavy of a racket you can swing for at least 2 hours, and then the most stable of those rackets within in that weight range. If I were forced to name a racket for you based on what you've written, I'd suggest the $99.00 Fischer M Speed Pro 1 in the 105 sq'; size. I don't know enough about other brands, but they're all better than any racket found in Walmart.
get adult definitly
if ur looking for speed go ';oversized head';
if ur looking for control go ';mid-plus head';
since ur a beginner id go with control... and im not saying that control is just for beginners... i use mid-plus... speed is for
people that just look for power, but control is way more important than how hard u hit the ball....
if uve been playing awhile like me, then u know how to play and rally a fast ball so its worthless but if u hit a cross-court shot with perfect accuracy... u do the math.
go with a wilson or head... actually head is ur best bet...
get ur racket at a tennis pro shop bc they know wat is right... dont get the cheesy rackets at like academy.. they hav nothing....
good luck
You really need to demo some before you buy an expensive racquet. However if you are just starting out you may just want to go to Wal Mart or a Sporting Goods Store like ***** or Sports Authority and get a pre-strung model for less than $50. But if you want a nicer racquet then go to a tennis pro shop and tell them you are beginning and want a good basic racquet - they should let you demo some and then you can decide which you like.
Racquets are very subjective, what might work for my game might not work for yours. But if you are a beginner I'd just start with a prestrung raquet from Dick's.
i work in a tennis shop.
Head if you want power not heavy not light and control genrally
babolat if you want light and fairly powerful
not Prince there over priced Sh**
dont get argos or asda makes there pointless bad you will want to spend a bit but not over 拢80拢 $160$
that will be too much hope this helps.
